The Knights Templar were a wealthy and influential religious order, considered to be God’s elite warriors, forged out of the Crusades. To become a Knight Templar, you had to give up your family name, all worldly possessions, and pleasures of the flesh. From now on, the only relationship they could have was with God. Templar Knights swore vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, they were part soldier and part monk, and together they made up one of the greatest bodies of fighting men in military history.
